Battlefield 3: 8 Million Pound Gorilla
EA can be proud of Battlefield 3. It may not have been the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 killer they wanted it to be. Rather EA now has a title in the war/fps genre that can compete. Mind you Battlefield has always been a great franchise, but EA has this bad habit of letting their franchises go. What I mean is that they tend to get complacent. This was the case with Battlefield. Dice always does a great job in their defense, but previous titles were missing something. What Battlefield 3 has done is get the franchise back to basics. Focusing on the fun aspects of being a soldier. At the same time pushing things technically to make the title stand out, or stand toe to toe with other titles. All of the tlc that EA/Dice put into Battlefield 3 has turned the title into 8 million units sold, and counting. In a crazy game filled universe we live in now from mobile to console. It’s a battlefield out there (Pun totally intended). With the marketing campaign bread that was spent on Battlefield 3, EA needed to make sure the bacon fried right. We must say Battlefield is mighty tasty. Good job EA…
